  • What is Science Rendezvous?
    Science Rendezvous is a free annual public science festival hosted at Western University. It features hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and interactive exhibits designed to ignite curiosity and celebrate STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) for all ages.
  • When and where is the event held?
    This year, the event takes place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Thompson Arena from 12:00-6:00 pm. Each year, our website and social media update exact dates, times, and locations (e.g., specific buildings or outdoor spaces) yearly.
  • Is there a cost to attend?
    No! Science Rendezvous is completely free and open to the general public. However, we do have several food trucks available on-site and encourage guests to bring cash if they wish to purchase food on the property.
  • Who can attend? Is it only for kids?
    All ages are welcome! Activities are tailored for children, teens, adults, and families. Some workshops may target specific age groups, but most are designed to engage everyone.
  • What if it rains?
    The event will occur rain or shine!
  • Are there food options on-site?
    Food trucks and concession stands are available. Attendees may also bring their own snacks.
  • Where should I park?
    Free parking is available in designated lots. Details are shared closer to the event date and available on our "event info" page. Public transit, biking, or rideshares are encouraged to reduce congestion.
  • Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
    Yes! Western University ensures all event spaces are accessible. For more information, please see our 2025 Event Info page. If you have specific needs, you can contact our event organizing committees at the addresses found on the "contact us" page.
  • Are pets allowed?
    Only service animals are permitted on the premises. Please leave pets at home.
  • What types of activities can I expect?
    Activities include lab tours, robotics demonstrations, chemistry magic shows, planetarium experiences, engineering challenges, and more. For more information about this year's current booth line-up, please refer to our "event info" page.
  • How can I stay updated?

  • How and when can I volunteer?
    The deadline to apply to be a general volunteer (a volunteer who is not assigned to a specific departmental booth has now passed. To volunteer at your specific departments booth, please contact your Science Rendezvous department representative. To contact us regarding any further questions, please see our Contact Us page.
  • Can I donate to support the event?
    Yes! All contributions or sponsorship opportunities are welcomed. Visit the “Support Us” page to learn more.
