Accommodations and American Sign Language (ASL)
Every year, we aim to take additional measure to ensure our event is accessible and inclusive to everyone!
We are happy to share that American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be available at our event.
Please see below for an overview of additional accommodations information for our event:
-
An accessible shuttle service from the South Valley parking lot to the entrance of the arena will run every ~15 min
-
Attendees will need to move around the hockey arena to browse our collection of demonstrations and activities, which are scattered all around the running track that surrounds the hockey rink, as well as on the rink itself (the ice will be covered with a carpet)
-
Access to the event space will require going down 1-2 flights of stairs or the use of an elevator. We will provide signage and volunteer help to direct attendees to the elevator
-
We will have a quiet indoor space that attendees can use to rest and recover should they find the event overwhelming
-
Arena stadium seating will be open and available for those looking to take a break with a bird's eye view of the entire event
If anyone in your group requires unique accommodations for physical, mental and/or learning disabilities please feel free to contact Dr. Faraj Haddad so we can make your time at Science Rendezvous more comfortable.
